An error occurred while saving the comment Jonathan Marshall commentedLike other posters, I thought this is how the microadjustment feature worked before I bought the GX AXS system. My LBS even told me this is how it works. I was disappointed to see this didn't work out of the box.
My assumption is that you could still have a finite number of total "clicks" of adjustment for you to spread across all of the cogs as needed. I'd assume this was based on available memory in the rear derailleur.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jonathan Marshall commentedAgreed, there has to be some type of battery serialization in the hardware (EEPROM) which would allow the app to identify the specific battery which is currently installed. All of the battery telemetry/metrics should be available to save in AXS app. This would give most people a better prediction, based on their typical rides, of how long a battery will really last. All of that marketing junk about 'up to a month of battery life' is BS -- people expect that charging a battery is a requirement -- we do it with our phones every day -- what you can do is use battery metrics to give a better prediction of when charging is required and how long you'll go based on recent rides.

An error occurred while saving the comment Jonathan Marshall commentedAgreed, this is table stakes functionality. I can't believe you have to have a paired cycling computer in order to get battery notifications on your iOS device.

Strava is a popular app, perhaps you've heard of it. If I have a $1000+ iPhone or Android that can speak BLE to the AXS components, please don't require me to have a separate cycling computer in order to get most of the value out of the system -- currently reserved for AXS web functionality.
