I get that a SRAM cassette should match up well with a single index setting and mine does. So far, at least. But what if I wanted to install AXS on a Shimano cassette. Or EThirteen? Or some other system that may be slightly different than the Eagle cassettes? The ability to micro adjust per cog gives Eagle users the ability to respond to wear or other issues and would be a very enticing feature for users of other drivetrains in their decision making process of adopting AXS.

In other words, it will make the system better for Eagle users and have the additional consequence of making AXS more appealing to a much wider pool of riders who may then buy more AXS product.

And, as has been noted, competitors will be out with this feature sooner, rather than later. Though I'm not a software engineer, it doesn't seem like this should be a complex feature to add to the software.
