it will only do that if your chain is on the smallest sprocket and your FD is moved inwards. This prevents the chain from touching the big chainring.
It's a common problem of todays road bikes as the chain stays are very short, that rinding small/small will cause this behavior.
Just be sure not to use the smallest cog when waking your FD and everythings just fine
