Shifter low battery notifications when new batteries installed
My shifter batteries were low so I replaced them. Once replaced I went into the AXS App, woke the components up and it showed these as being full. I went for my ride the next day and once completed I received notifications to say the shifter batteries are low. I once again logged into the app and it shows the batteries as full but I still get notifications to say that the shifters are low after every ride. Anyone else have this issue?

Same problem here. Right Rival AXS shifter is eating batteries. replacement Once every week in my cyclocross season!...i only have one cx bike.
Latest firmware in shifters and drailleur (1x) doesn't help.
Why does it (again) take an eternity for Sram to identify the problem (early post from 2020)!!
Sinse i've been using a AXS Rival 1x12 road system 1 1/5 year ago it's been nothing but trouble!
I'm satisfied with my mtb GX AXS system but a lots of people have the same issue with their mtb AXS shifter. So Sram please adress this problem! Sending the shifter back takes al lot of time and effort and i need that bike ready to race! Maybe i should try the mechanical Shimano GRX 1x12 because with Sram it's just dreadfull (yes my mechanical rival 1x12 shifter had a broken cog!). -

Same problem here, I've switched from Red etap (11 speed), battery reporting on my Garmin was perfect, I could ride 750km without charging the rear! Now running Force AXS etap on 3 bikes all have the same problem, I do 1 ride, go to the bike for the next ride, both batteries are critical? No notifications on the Garmin, I've included the levels on one of the screens. Igo to the Sram app and it says they are ok? What then happens is I end up charging them anyway because I don't want to run out. It seems a small firmware upgrade would sort this, yet apparently what seems 3 years later it's not been sorted out?

My right shifter battery died on a Saturday ride, however there was no prompt for low battery on my Wahoo ROAM computer. The only batteries that the ROAM prompt about are: Front Derailleur, Rear Derailleur, Quarq power meter.

I'm also having an issue with the left shifter. Put in a new battery (Energizer bought from Home Depot yesterday) and today it stopped working and the battery tested at 1.5V.
A crappy work around is using my phone to change the shifting on the right side as I bike. Not great, but I can get to and from work. Would've been nice if we're given the option to setup the shifters to shift in the opposite direction on a long push.

Same problem, barely ridden 250 km. Both shifters ran out of battery. Drove 30 km without being able to shift until suddenly it worked again. Control lights show green color only in the app is red icon with warning for the shifters.
shifter firmware: 2.7.7

I've only had my bike with axs rival for 3 months and I've had to replace the right shifter battery twice already. Only got about 3 weeks out of the last one I put in. I've contacted SRAM who are advising update firmware but that is already up to date.

I’m having similar problems with my brand new Rival ETAP AXS system. I bought the bike only two months ago, brand new, and suddenly got a “left shifter battery critical” warning on my Garmin computer. About a mile later my rear derailleur locked up (at the bottom of a hill, in my biggest gear) and I couldn’t down shift at all. A finished my ride standing on the cranks just to get home. This surprised me as this battery wasn’t old and the CR2032 shifter batteries are supposed to last a year.
A few hours later I still had the “left shifter battery critical” error on my Garmin, but was miraculously able to downshift again.
I replaced the left shifter CR2032 with a new, high quality Energizer battery and took two short ten mile rides. Looking at shifter battery life in the AXS app I’m already showing red/low battery on that brand new left shifter battery, though I haven’t had a warning pop up on my Garmin yet. So far I can still downshift, but who knows when I’ll get stuck?
This is absolutely ridiculous. This system is brand new, and now I’m seriously worried I’ll get stranded and unable to downshift every time I go out for a ride, even with brand new shifter batteries. Not a good experience and regretting my purchase of this mess of a system.
And before anyone wants to treat me like I’m a moron, yes I’ve upgraded to the most current firmware.

My issue is that I recharged my rear derailleur battery due to it blinking red when shifting. It recharged ok and everything is shifting fine however the app still says low battery?

I just started using my brand new sram rival axs shifters. My right hand shifter already drained 3 battery in 30 kilometers. Did you guys find a solution for your similar problems?

I am running SRAM Force AXS [brand new]with a Bolt Elemnt headunit. Very occasionally I get an error message on the headunit that simply says LOW BATTERY GEAR SELECTION. All firmware is up to date and all batteries are less than one month old and check out "green" when the AXS button is pressed. The gear changes, running one by, are not 100% accurate - I can press the lever or the blip and sometimes the gears simply don't change. I have to resort to pushing the AXS button on the RD or repeatedly hitting the lever or blip until the gears actually change. I am open to suggestions but at this stage SRAM appear to be stumped and I waiting for a response from Wahoo. Surely when an error message is programmed into a head unit there is a clear explanation of what triggers the message...but I am yet to get a positive response .

I've been having the same issue lately. Two new Panasonic batteries installed and I still get the low battery message in the Web app even though the SRAM app shows battery as full.

Solved the problem with bying a quality batteri and not just a CR2032 from Ikea.

Same problem with my Force eTap control shifters. Get a notification on my Wahoo Roam computer about low batteri in the left or right controler, and few minutes after i can't shift gear.
Take the 2032 battery out and back in, and i can shift gear, and the battery is full.
When i put in a new 2032 battery same thing happens on the next ride. -

Thought I post here because all the battery notification issues in the AXS WEB are reported as completed. Fist I have 7500 miles logged on my rode bike with a 12sp Force Axs system. Because all three of the battery status or notifications are inconsistent and are not representative the battery status, I have adapted to devising my on method for monitoring the remaining battery life. I have experience the all same issue reported for AXS WEB battery notifications. For example, left or right controller low battery meant FD or RD batteries are low. Now it is Left controller controller " New firmware available (Version 2.7.3)". Back to the L/R controller low battery detected. Received notification for both after a ride. Did the usual response of charging both RD/FD batteries. Before next ride checked the status light for green on the both RD/FD and L/R controllers. Also check batteries status in AXS mobile 10 miles into the ride the Left Controller went completely dead (no status lights). Replaced both L/R. Had to remove and insert the LC battery several times without the status light indicating. Interesting experience, next day check one more time on the LC status light before taking it to bike shop, magically everything is ok. Also the AXS mobile use to report hours since last charging the associated RD/FD. Found that useful. My alternate method is tracking the number miles since last re-charge of RD/FD controller in gamin. Basically I experience between 300-400 miles between re-charges. Another L/R indicator is the battery voltage is around 7.68 (still green) when I received L/R controller low or firmware notification or 7.42 (red) in both WEB/Mobile apps.
