Because the AXS components spend most of their life being asleep, you're not going to be able to remotely lock them. However, what SRAM could do, which would be brilliant, is to allow users to report a stolen bike and track the SRAM components on it.

If/when that same component's serial number showed up again, it could generate an alert for the original owner. Since there's GPS data on SRAM's web site, some interesting privacy issues occur here, but SRAM could presumably have some way of generating a hyperlink for a local police department, where they could upload a judge's order and then tell the police any relevant GPS information.

If a thief breaks a bike up into its component parts and each goes their own way, this would actually provide additional information to the police in tracking down who sold all the parts.

Meanwhile, what every SRAM AXS owner can do today is take a screenshot of the app, where it shows all the serial numbers of all the components. If/when your bike is stolen and parted out, you've at least got evidence of the serial numbers you owned, and you could even see if you could get a judge to order SRAM to track those serial numbers!
